Our story began through an connection orchestrated by our moms' mutual friend. It’s a funny tale of persistence and a bit of luck. I had always been stubborn about the idea of arranged marriages. The pressure from my parents was something I consistently avoided. So, when one of my good friends (Susan) called me with a heads-up about a guy named Alvin who was going to call, I was skeptical to say the least. Thankfully, Alvin decided to text first instead of calling outright. That evening, I received a message from him. Despite my curiosity, I made him wait a few hours before I replied. Our initial exchanges were brief, but pleasant. When Alvin asked if he could call, I still wasn’t ready to have that conversation, so I told him to call me that weekend. He called me that Saturday.
